Our Favorite Winter Vacations Spots

If you’re reading this in the great state of Indiana, there is no debate that winter has arrived. Last week it was below freezing, and this week it looks like more of the same. Winter is here, and it appears to be here to stay. Sometimes the best way to cure the winter blues is to take a trip to a warmer climate. Today we are going to list our three favorite places to visit in the wintertime.

One great state to visit in the winter is Arizona. Arizona is warm year-round with an average January temperature of around seventy degrees. One of the biggest and most vibrant cities in Arizona is Phoenix. Phoenix is home to 1.6 million residents and has plenty to offer the tourist inside you. Phoenix is minutes away from Papago Park, a beautiful desert area that is like a whole other world compared to Indiana! If you want to experience something new, visiting Arizona in the wintertime would be a good idea.

When most people think of a warm weather winter getaway, they think of Florida. Florida is home to beautiful weather year-round and miles and miles of sandy beaches. The first recommendation we have for a visit to Florida isn’t on the beach though. One of our favorite places to visit is Orlando, Florida which is in the central part of the state. Orlando is home to many different theme parks including the incredible Walt Disney World Resort. Visitors can also visit SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Orlando Resort, and LEGOLAND Florida Resort! There is so much to do, and Orlando would be the perfect place to visit with the kids.

The final place on our winter getaway list is our favorite. Home to one of the best beaches in the world and plenty of amazing restaurants is Siesta Key, Florida. Siesta Key is located just five miles west of Sarasota, and TripAdvisor rated it the number one beach in the United States. The beaches are made of fine quartz-white sand, so your feet stay cool while enjoying a relaxing walk on the beach. You can relax under an umbrella or take a walk around the village and enjoy hundreds of amazing local restaurants. Siesta Key is our number one wintertime vacation recommendation!

Sometimes you just need a break. Maybe you need a break from work or a break from the snow. Whatever your reason, visiting a warmer climate in the winter always gives the body and mind a good refresh. Let us know your favorite winter vacation spots! Thanks for reading!
